An employee-owned firm with over 300 employees with several offices in multiple states in the SE US looking to add a Geotechnical Engineer/Project Manager to its Baton Rouge location.
This position has technical responsibility for interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating assignments. Plans and develops engineering projects, including definition of project scope. Competent in all conventional aspects of the subject matter of the functional area of the assignment, plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained worker.
Independently applies extensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields.
Reviews complete project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
Assists upper-level management and staff as a technical specialist or advisor.
Plans, develops, coordinates, and directs multiple projects or a project of major scope and importance.
Prepares proposals for projects based on scope and complexity of work.
Plans, organizes and supervises the work of staff engineers and technicians.
Reviews and approves scopes, budgets, and schedules for projects assigned.
Interacts with clients, customers, officials, contractors throughout each project through completion.
Attends project meetings and presents specific aspects of engineering assignments.
Ensures on time and regular attendance
1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited curriculum.
2. Five-15 years’ experience in Geotechnical Engineering
3. Registered Professional Engineer (PE), EI certification and ability to attain PE within 6 months may be considered
1. Must be willing to work flexible schedules and overtime as needed by the department needs.
2. Must be able to operate a computer and sit for long periods of time.
3. Must have a valid driver’s license.
