GIS/Cityworks Solutions Expert 

Job description

An opportunity to work with our client, a leading engineering consulting organization across Mississippi and Louisiana and Tennessee. We are looking for a Lead GIS Expert with extensive experience in developing and implementing ArcGIS and Cityworks solutions for infrastructure systems managed by public entities.

We are looking for an individual with a proven and creative background, who is not afraid to take on new challenges and who wants to lead a GIS group and collaborate with other disciplines in our organization –such as planning, engineering and finance– in order to provide the best, most efficient solutions possible for our clients.

GIS/Cityworks Solutions Expert Summary: The GIS/Cityworks Solutions Engineer provides support for the implementation of enterprise GIS focusing on Cityworks Management Solutions. The role is responsible for assessments and recommendations, system administration and configuration, application deployment, documentation, end-user support and training data analysis, data modeling, web service creation, application testing and troubleshooting.

Essential Functions:

Lead needs to develop assessments/requirements criteria and document solutions for GIS enterprise use-Installation and configuration of Cityworks.

Server software management, including training users on the use and adoption of Cityworks technologies.

Assess customer’s existing GIS environments and recommend areas for improvements in application technology, system performance, and software migration plans.

Communicate and collaborate with the engineering team and other departments within our client’s firm to successfully deploy custom solutions.

Provide/write GIS system technical recommendations, standard operating procedures, administrative and help documents for clients and technical teams.

Write and execute test plans to troubleshoot solution errors and support end users.

Present system design information to technical and non-technical audiences.

Create mapping, imagery and data services.

Competencies and Skills:

Comfort with Esri’s GIS platform (ArcGIS Server, enterprise geodatabase, ArcGIS Online) to support Cityworks.

Experience installing and configuring Cityworks Server software

Background in configuring Cityworks core/add-ons/modules such as AMS (Asset Management Solutions) that serves as the Computerized Maintenance Management System for Cityworks;  PLL (Permitting, Licensing and Land); Work Order Management; Insight ( Cityworks Analytics); Storeroom (Inventory Management).

Comfort discussing and documenting configuration requirements with clients.

Experience providing knowledge transfer or training to Cityworks administrators and to end users.

Understanding of the Cityworks database schema and associated backend management/scripting.

Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.

Exceptional customer service orientation.

Excellent interpersonal, writing, documentation and presentation skills.

Ability to analyze business processes and systems and migrate to/integrate with geospatial systems.

Experience required for this senior level position:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering or related field.

Two or more years of experience installing and configuring Cityworks

Two or more years of enterprise-level GIS technology experience.

MUST have 5 years management experience or GIS/ asset management for infrastructure projects (water, wastewater, transportation and stormwater) for municipalities.

Demonstrated experience integrating multiple enterprise technologies in an enterprise environment.

Scripting or programming experience (e.g. Python, SQL, or HTML).

Experience in consulting, solution design, software configuration, and operational support.

Work Environment: Office location in Jackson, MS. Anticipate some travel and training activities across firms’ branch offices.

Qualified candidates must be a US Citizen or able to work indefinitely without any type of sponsorship.
